The Vital Mindset That All Healthy High Achieving People Who Thrive, Know and Live By.

Stick with me here, as I mention the “resolutions” word here not opportunistically but strategically.

In keeping with our trimester theme: Foresight is 2020: Actualize the Vision of your Life…, It’s only natural to want to set new resolutions for a new year, let alone “2020” where you want to actualize a vision you have for your/life, perhaps more than any other year.

But what I want you to see is that healthy, high achieving people who thrive, free of the distractions that hold them back have a “resolve,” mindset all year round.
Resolve means to:
  • Decide on a course of action
  • Settle or find a solution to (a problem, dispute, or contentious matter).
  • Reduce a subject, statement, etc. by mental analysis into (separate elements or a more elementary form).
  • Analyze (a force or velocity) into components acting in a particular direction. 
  • Turn into a different form when seen more clearly.

And this is my suggestion for you, if you want things to change and improve in 2020, you must resolve matters, so that you can evolve and achieve what you are up to in the world; resolution precedes evolution or change. It’s an ongoing thing, not a once a year thing. Although completely natural to want to evoke calls to action at the start a significant new period. 

The Vital Mindset That All Healthy High Achieving People Who Thrive, Know and Live By. 

We have a mantra in Performance Lifestyle training, called: “Resolve. Evolve. Achieve” for this very reason. It is the wash, rinse and repeat so to speak, that thing you are always doing behind the scenes when you are accomplishing, achieving and realizing in your life; you know those things we do naturally every day. 

We are constantly resolving matters at hand. It never stops. It’s only when we stop resolving that matters build up into problems, that become contentious or complex and hard to unravel.

A great example of this is when you find yourself in a downward spiral where tiredness becomes exhaustion and fatigue, which becomes distressed, which can turn into burnout and further negative consequences. This happens all the time for people because, along the way, they don’t resolve all the matters arising that result in this trend. They cope with stresses in ways that create more stress vs less. 

Now I know, facing everything and avoiding nothing can be challenging, especially if we’re going through life as walking psychologies with thoughts and emotions ruling the day. On that basis, resolving any matter is more challenging than it probably needs to be as you have to deal with the fears that arise in the form of thoughts, feelings, and emotions that can drive you a little crazy.  

So at the start of the New Year, I want to offer you a gift; some insight into the greatest and most important lifestyle change you can possibly make that will help you resolve any matter in your life from the very best part of yourself, that is not enmeshed in thought; the coupled feelings and emotions that distract and hold so many of us back from taking the vital actions we need to and want to in our lives. 

It opens up the door to what makes the difference between a person who can live a lifestyle that supports them and what they are up to in the world in genuine relationship with others, and one who will struggle.
